An Arizona dad laughed and sang carols with his young son in a chilling video he posted to Facebook on Christmas Eve — just hours before he allegedly murdered his estranged wife and their two children.

Anthony Ross, 45, is accused of shooting his 38-year-old wife Iris Ross, his 10-month-old daughter Anora and his 11-year-old son Nigel before exchanging gunfire with police on Christmas Day. Police eventually took Ross into custody.

Before the alleged killing spree, Ross appeared to be a happy and loving father while filming the video with his son.

“I’m smiling and hanging out with Nigel on Christmas Eve, and we’re about to embarrass ourselves,” Ross says. “We’re gonna sing!”

The pair then launch into a duet of “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town.” They wrap up the video by wishing everyone “Merry Christmas!”

Ross, a vegan chef and motivational speaker who was visiting Phoenix for the holidays, was charged with first-degree murder and aggravated assault of an officer on Tuesday, police told CBS News. He is being held at the Maricopa County jail without bail.

Ross allegedly attacked an officer multiple times after barricading himself inside the home. Court documents list the Phoenix apartment complex as Ross’ home, although it is unclear if that is his current residence.

When police arrived on the scene at around 4 p.m. after reports of gunfire, they saw Iris’s body on the patio.

After several hours of trying to negotiate with Ross to let the children leave the home, police sent a robot camera inside and saw that they were already dead.

Witnesses told police they saw Ross shoot his ex-wife as she tried to run away from him. They later heard two or three more gunshots from inside the home, according to court documents obtained by ABC 15.

Iris’s sister, Mary Wogas, said she received a chilling text message from Ross on Christmas afternoon.

“I received a text yesterday about 2:52 p.m. Two messages, first one saying ‘I just killed Iris and the kids.’ The second message was ‘with a gun’,” said Wogas.

“I knew that man was very unstable. I knew he had a very, very dark side. I didn’t know it was this dark,” she said, adding that he struggled with depression.

Ross, known by fans as Milan Ross, gained a social media following after posting videos of his vegan weight loss journey online. Several of those fans expressed their disbelief on his Facebook page.

“It’s so tragic to think this man who had so much going for him could devastate so many lives so soon after this post,” Jessica Hager wrote in the comments section of Ross’ video with his son.
