Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini in action
Juventus are trying to hijack Arsenal’s move for Roma starlet Lorenzo Pellegrini, according to reports in Italy.
The midfielder is expected to be in high demand during the summer transfer window due to a €30million (£26m) release clause in his current contract.
Arsenal are already reportedly in talks over a deal for the 21-year-old as new boss Unai Emery looks to revamp his squad.
But, according to Corriere della Sera, Juventus are now trying to hijack the Gunners’ move for Pellegrini.
The Italian champions are said to be happy to pay the youngster’s release clause in full to snap him up this summer.
Roma, for their part, are trying to organise contract talks with Pellegrini and his agent.
The club want to reward the Italian with a new deal, which would increase his wages and, crucially, his release clause too.
