Vida played all-but-one of his country’s matches en route to the World Cup final
Arsenal are set to fight Liverpool in their pursuit of Croatia star Domagoj Vida, according to reports in Turkey.
The centre-back played an important role in his country’s run to the World Cup final this summer and his impressive displays caught the eye of Europe’s biggest clubs.
This includes Liverpool, who are preparing to make their move for the Besiktas defender in the coming weeks.
However, Jurgen Klopp’s side will likely be joined by Arsenal in the race for Vida, according to the Milliyet newspaper.
The report further states that the Gunners have already tabled a bid for the 29-year-old in an attempt to beat Liverpool to his signature.
Besiktas have already set Vida’s price tag at £25m and they will likely face a tough fight in keeping hold of their star asset.
West Ham have also expressed an interest in signing the defender, but the recent big-money acquisitions arriving in east London may mean they have to wait to sell first.
