A man who works in the medical community allegedly posed as a young boy on Instagram to solicit inappropriate photos from young girls in Michigan.

The 37-year-old man, whose name is being withheld pending his arraignment on Thursday, was arrested after portraying himself as a young boy in a ruse to get several female students to send him racy photos, WNEM reports.

Saginaw County Chief Assistant Prosecutor Christopher Boyd said the man faces felony charges of accosting a child for indecent purposes and using a computer to commit a crime. The man, who faces up to 14 years in prison if convicted, works in the medical community, according to the prosecutor’s office.

WNEM reports that some of the students allegedly targeted by the man attended the Freeland Community School District in Freeland, northeast of Saginaw. That prompted police to make contact with some parents of the students, according to Tittabawassee Township Police Det. Brian Berg.

The suspect has since been barred by Freeland Schools Superintendent Matt Cairy from schools in the district or attending any associated events, WNEM reports.

Stephen Peterson, the parent of an 8-year-old girl in the district, said he was “angry” and found the allegations “disgusting.” His daughter does not have an Instagram account, he said.

“I feel a little unprotected of her a little bit,” Peterson told the station. “It makes me want to go find the guy.”

It’s unclear how many students were allegedly contacted, but emails were sent to parents of all students throughout the district, Cairy told the station.

The man, who was arrested on Wednesday, is being held on $250,000 bond, MLive.com reports.

The man communicated with the girls via direct messages on Instagram using account handles of “Saginawbaseball;trevor,” “tKnightFreeland:SaginawBaseball” or “23basketballJones23’Knight,” WJRT reports.
