Hi, I am trying to raise enough money for my son Ashton Kai a Japanese Junior High school student in Japan for a once in a lifetime home stay program in Australia. Ashton Kai lives with his mother (split family) with minimal income yet he works hard everyday to be the best student possible in his environment. 7 days a week he is busy with his studies and extra curricular activities and dealing with the social pressures of being a student in Japan.
He attends Junior High School grade 2 (equivalent to grade 8) where he excels in his basketball club, English studies and overall performance. Recently, he applied out of hundreds of students at his school for a home stay program in Australia just to see if he had a chance to even make the consideration. Not only did he pass the exam but also the final interview and was picked as the student representative for his school. Due to the living with his mother and having a huge burden trying to pay the $5000 cost (to which i have paid $1500) and not being able to tell my our son Ashton Kai he can not go due to lack of funds, I am hoping for some hope in the form of this fundraiser and the community to possibly help make his achievements and dream a reality. As of now, $1500 has been paid with a final payment due Aug 1st to be confirmed.
I would appreciate all the help we can get for my son who is a thoughtful, kind and genuinely wonderful young man and LET’S GIVE HIM THE SURPRISE OF A LIFETIME. The benefits for Ashton Kai would help him further his knowledge in English, help him to become a Global Citizen and appreciate what the foreign world has to offer. Education in Japan has extreme pressure to excel and meet expectations to which Ashton Kai has well exceeded in. He just needs this chance to represent his school and himself with a home stay trip to Australia to further his studies in English while thinking globally and appreciating the world around him.
Thank you
Andrew Chappell
