Wilshere is considering his next move and is understood to have spoken with Pellegrini about how he might fit into his plans next season.

The 26-year-old has received offers from elsewhere, notably Turkish giants Fenerbahce, but his family are settled in London and it is likely he would opt to remain in the capital if possible.

Staying in England would also give the midfielder a chance to regain his international place after he was left out of Gareth Southgate’s 23-man squad for the World Cup.

Wolves and Everton are believed to be interested, but at this point, West Ham and Fenerbahce are leading the race.
