The Colombia international has emerged as a target of Liverpool’s, despite a reported impending transfer to Fenerbahce
Liverpool are reportedly trying to hijack Fenerbahce’s move for defender Yerry Mina.
The 23-year-old joined Barcelona in January from Brazilian side Palmeiras, but he went on to make just six appearances for the Spanish giants in the second half of last season.
The centre-back has since gone on to impress at the World Cup for Colombia, and interest in him has grown.
Barcelona are happy to loan the player out this summer to allow him to gain valuable first-team experience – and free up a non-EU place in their squad.
Fenerbahce are hoping to land the young defender and have been in talks with him over a loan deal for a number of weeks.
But, according to Fotomac, Liverpool have made a late move to try and snap up Mina from under the Turkish club’s nose.
Like Fenerbahce, the Reds are looking to sign the defender on loan and they have made contact with Barcelona.
