The 18-year-old was linked with moves away from England, but has committed to the Reds
Rhian Brewster has signed his first professional contract with Liverpool to put an end to transfer speculation.
The 18-year-old signed a five-year deal at Melwood, where he is currently undergoing rehabilitation on an ankle injury.
Contract negotiations stalled in the last few months, with Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal reportedly interested in his services.
However, Merseyside was his home and he could not wait to break into the first team under Jurgen Klopp.
Brewster told Liverpoolfc.com: “It feels great. I’ve wanted to do this for a very long time now and I think it’s the right moment for me and my family
“I’m looking forward to getting back fit and making some appearances.
“Since I got here the club has been amazing to me and treated me like family. It seems like I’ve been here my whole life, to be honest.
“It’s coming up to my fifth season now. I [still] remember my first training session. It’s amazing and I can’t wait to get started.”
Brewster joined the club’s academy in 2015 from Chelsea, when coach Michael Beale brought him to Merseyside after leaving the Blues as well.
He has featured for the club’s Under-18 and Under-23 teams in recent seasons, impressing coaches with his finishing abilities.
The striker’s form was acknowledged by Jürgen Klopp when he was named on the first-team bench for the visit of Crystal Palace to Anfield in April 2017.
He top-scored with eight goals at the FIFA Under-17 World Cup last October, including one in the final, as England achieved a historic triumph at the tournament in India.
