The striker bagged two goals in Belgium’s 3-0 win over their Group G opponents
Belgium got their World Cup campaign off to a good start after beating minnows Panama 3-0 in their Group G clash.
It looked like the debutants were frustrating the Belgians as it was goalless at half-time.
However, Roberto Martinez’s side went up a few gears after the break and found the breakthrough via a Dries Mertens volley on 47 minutes.
Romelu Lukaku scored the other two for the Red Devils – his first a simple header from six yards while his second was a clever dink over the onrushing Jaime Penedo to secure his 15th goal in his last ten appearances for Belgium.
The Manchester United striker looked very sharp in the 3-0 win for his country and fans of his club were quick to sing his praises during the game – one even backed Lukaku to win the Golden Boot!
