Milinkovic-Savic is one of the hottest properties in all European football
Manchester United have made an opening bid for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, according to reports.
Milinkovic-Savic, the Lazio midfielder, is rated as one of the finest midfielders in Europe despite his tender age of 23. He has made 122 appearances for the Serie A club, scoring 24 goals and creating a further 20 from central midfield.
He has been linked with a host of Europe’s biggest clubs over the last few months, and Radio Ser claim United have made a formal approach for Milinkovic-Savic.
It is reported a £96m (€110m) plus bonuses bid has been made by the Red Devils, but Lazio are demanding at least £131m (€150m) for the Serbia international.
Lazio know they can drive a hard bargain for Milinkovic-Savic, as numerous clubs want to sign him, though the Biancocelesti missed out on Champions League qualification so the player himself could force a move.
According to the report, Lazio President Claudio Lotito hopes rival interested parties, such as Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, are pushed into action by United’s offer, creating a bidding war to drive Milinkovic-Savic’s price even higher.
