Mauricio Pochettino unsure whether Spurs will sign new players but insists club is working on deals

Boss admits the club could sign no one or up to four new players

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has admitted he doesn’t know whether the club will make any signings before the transfer window closes.

Spurs and Burnley are the only Premier League clubs yet to sign a new player this summer, frustrating supporters.

And now Pochettino, despite claiming the club are working on new additions, has stated he’s unsure whether they will get a signing over the line before the August 9 deadline.

He said: “Last season I told you some numbers, but this season we don’t know. I don’t know if we are going to sign or not. We’re working on that. I cannot tell you if we’re going to sign one, zero or two or three or four.

“We’re working. It’s true that it’s so close, the transfer window is so close, but the club’s doing everything to help the team and add some players, more quality, and try to help us in the season to achieve what we want.”

Tottenham have been heavily linked with signing Jack Grealish from Aston Villa but their change of ownership appears to have moved the goalposts on any deal.
