Kramaric was in good form for Hoffenheim last season
Newcastle will need to fork out £44million if they are serious about signing Croatia’s Andrej Kramaric, according to Hoffenheim’s sporting director.
Kramaric reportedly has a number of admirers across Europe despite having a largely unsuccessful spell at Leicester City (January 2015-January 2016).
It is understood the Magpies and Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are monitoring his situation after he scored 17 goals in all competitions for Hoffenheim last season.
The 27-year-old also had a good game for Croatia at the World Cup in their comfortable 2-0 victory over Nigeria on Saturday.
And Hoffenheim sporting director Alexander Rosen revealed the club rejected an offer for the forward in January.
But Rosen suggested Hoffenheim would be willing to listen to offers for Kramaric in the summer.
He said to German publication TZ: “I never rule out anything, that’s not in our business.
“We had an offer of €30m (£26.3m) for Andrej from Italy during the winter the break.
“That was not an option for us. But what happens if €50m (£43.7m) are bid, I cannot say.”
Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez is on the lookout for at least one new striker ahead of the new season after Ayoze Perez finished as their top scorer last term with just ten goals.
