A number of clubs from England’s top tier have had Maddison on their radar after his outstanding 2017/18 season.
However, it seems the south coast is his next destination as sources close to the Carrow Road club say Southampton boss Mark Hughes has been given permission to talk to the youngster after meeting the Championship club’s valuation for their star midfielder tonight.
Maddison’s stock rose dramatically when it was revealed that he had created 54 chances for Norwich – more than any other player in the Premier League, Bundesliga, LaLiga, Serie A and Ligue 1.
And after reportedly 48 hours of tough negotiations it appears Saints have got a deal for the England Under-21 international nearly wrapped up.
He looks set to replace Sofiane Boufhal who appears keen for a move back to France after an unsuccessful season.
