Tottenham Hotspur’s stadium crisis has deepened with reports Spurs could be forced to stage their Premier League clash against champions Manchester City at Twickenham.

Tottenham have agreed a deal with the Football Association to continue using Wembley Stadium – their home for all of last season – until at least the end of 2018.

It means their upcoming game against Liverpool on September 15, which was meant to be the opening game at their not-yet-finished stadium, will be played at the home of football instead.

However, Wembley is already booked on October 28 – for an NFL game between Philadelphia Eagles and Jacksonville Jaguars – which means Spurs are having to look for alternative venues for the City clash.
