The goalkeeper denied Martin Caceres with a stunning stop towards the end of the first-half
A tense World Cup quarter-final tie between Uruguay and France came to life in the last five minutes of the first-half.
Raphael Varane’s glancing header gave Les Bleus the lead but perhaps the moment of the half was Hugo Lloris’s stunning save a few minutes later.
The goalkeeper got down brilliantly to his right to keep out Martin Caceres’ powerful header and Diego Godin could only blaze the rebound over, thus preserving France’s lead.
And Lloris’ was being raved about on Twitter especially from Tottenham fans as that is the club Lloris plays for.
Lloris had a very eventful half which saw him spit out a dragonfly earlier in the game.
However, all that was forgotten following the brilliant stop. Below you can see some of the best tweets from Spurs fans.
