Transfer report: Liverpool have £130m bid for Marco Asensio REJECTED by Real Madrid

Real Madrid have rejected two big-money bids from Premier League clubs for Spanish starlet Marco Asensio, his agent has revealed.

And reports in Spain claim one of those offers came from Liverpool.

Asensio is a long-term target for Jurgen Klopp.

The Reds boss has already failed with two attempts to land the 22-year-old – last summer and in January after selling Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona.

The German coach is reportedly still keen to bring the talented attacker to Anfield, but it appears Liverpool have failed again after a third bid of around £130million rejected by the Spanish giants.

Asensio’s agent Horacio Gaggioli has revealed Real rejected two £130m bids from the Premier League, with Spanish sports newspaper AS claiming Liverpool were one of the clubs involved.

“Madrid have received two offers for Marco Asensio, up to €150m (£131m), but the club rejected them,” Gaggioli told Madrid-based radio station Cadena SER.

“He has an extraordinary future.

“You can imagine that they come from England because they can afford it without any problems. They could even raise it.”

Asensio, who was selected for Spain’s World Cup squad, signed a new six-year contract in September 2017 to keep him at the Bernabeu until 2023.

It is also claimed his new Los Blancos deal features a £613million buy-out clause.

The 22-year-old joined Real in 2014 from hometown club Real Mallorca for €3.9million.
