Who are Manchester United playing in pre-season?

The Red Devils will be spending the majority of their summer in America, with five games scheduled in the States.

United’s pre-season kicks-off in Phoenix against Club America on July 19 before they travel to Santa Clara to play San Jose Earthquakes three days later.

They will then take part in the International Champions Cup, facing AC Milan on July 26 in Pasadena, domestic rivals Liverpool on July 28 and European champions Real Madrid on August 1.

United will then return to Europe for their final pre-season match, against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena on August 5, ahead of the opening Premier League game against Leicester City on August 11.

What is the International Champions Cup?

It is a pre-season tournament that will see 18 of Europe’s top clubs take part at various venues across the United States, Europe and Singapore in July.

Most teams will play three matches and only one champion will emerge based on topping the league table.
