talkSPORT gives you the lowdown on the Premier League side’s preparations for the new campaign
Liverpool will play their first-pre season match on Saturday – at the same time as England face Sweden.
New additions Naby Keita and Fabinho are set to start against Chester as Jurgen Klopp kicks off his preparations for the 2018/19 campaign.
Klopp will be without a number of players for the next few weeks, including Mo Salah and Jordan Henderson, due to their World Cup exploits.
That could be good news for younger players at the club as they get the chance to enhance their claims for first-team selection.
Liverpool will play nine games before they kick off their Premier League campaign at home to West Ham on August 11.
Who are Liverpool playing in pre-season?
The Reds will first face National League North side Chester on Saturday, July 7 at the Swansway Chester Stadium.
Four days later, they will head down the road to Prenton Park to take on League Two side Tranmere Rovers.
They will then face another League Two side, Bury, before a clash at Ewood Park against Championship opposition, Blackburn Rovers.
Liverpool will then jet off to America to take part in the International Champions Cup, playing matches in North Carolina, New Jersey and Michigan.
They will come up against some familiar faces, going head-to-head against Klopp’s former club Borussia Dortmund, Premier League champions Manchester City and bitter rivals Manchester United.
What is the International Champions Cup?
It is a pre-season tournament that will see 18 of Europe’s top clubs take part at various venues across the United States, Europe and Asia. All eight of the teams that competed in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals will take part. Teams will play three matches and only one champion will emerge based on topping the league table. It begins on July 20 and ends on August 11.
After almost a fortnight in America, the squad will then travel back to Europe to take on Napoli, managed by former Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti, at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium before concluding their friendly schedule with their first pre-season game at Anfield in four years; Torino will provide the opposition.
