The right-back joined up with his team-mates at the Reds’ training camp in Evian on Tuesday night
Trent Alexander-Arnold managed to convince Liverpool to allow him to come back to training with the club ahead of schedule.
The 19-year-old joined up with his team-mates at their camp in Evian, France on Tuesday after a post-World Cup holiday.
The right-back broke into the Reds team and his brilliant form earned him a spot in England’s World Cup squad for the finals in Russia.
Alexander-Arnold was therefore entitled to a break from his club until next week but he has decided to come back ahead of schedule with a view to playing as soon as possible.
“It was a long season and I didn’t get to have the summer rest the other lads had,” Alexander-Arnold told Liverpoolfc.com.
“But you want to get back as soon as possible. I spoke to the manager and he understood that I’m young and maybe didn’t need as much rest as the other lads because I was still fresh. He allowed me to come back early.
“It’s maybe a bit too soon to play over the weekend. Hopefully I’ll get a few minutes before the season starts and try to get myself back into contention as soon as possible.”
Liverpool have had a very busy summer – spending over £170m on four new signings – Alisson Becker, Fabinho, Naby Keita and Xherdan Shaqiri.
“We have made some really good signings. It’s making our squad stronger and it makes us a better team,” the No.66 said.
“When you’re training with better players then you automatically get better because you’re challenging yourself more. That’s the main goal: to challenge yourself day in, day out and improve yourself.”

The Reds kick off their Premier League campaign on Sunday August 12 at home to West Ham – a game you can listen to live on talkSPORT.
